From Haiti to Hanover

From HELP's May 2010 newsletter: In the wake of the earthquake, Dartmouth College offered to accept applications from two of HELP's top students for their Spring session. While the universities in Haiti are slowly reopening, we felt this was an opportunity not to be passed up. Students Daphnee Charles (agronomy, class of 2012) and Ronel LeFranc (agronomy, class of 2012) were chosen for their excellent academic records, diligent work in HELP's ESL classes, and for exemplifying the leadership traits HELP expects of its students. Dartmouth College is providing full tuition support and housing, with HELP providing travel and spending money.

Since arriving in Hanover, Daphnee and Ronel have been working hard to keep up with their classes, represent HELP (click here to view the press conference held upon their arrival), and cope with the chilly weather! They're both maintaining a B-average and have been invited to continue their studies in Dartmouth's summer session.
