What is HELP?
HELP’s mission is to build, through academic scholarships based on merit and need, a community of young professionals and leaders who will actively contribute to a more just society in Haiti. Since 1996, HELP has been offering scholarships to young, academically deserving students who face economic difficulties affecting their ability to attend university. These scholarships are offered for bachelor degrees in the Haitian universities recognized by the Ministry of National Education, the Rectorate of the State University of Haiti and affiliated to the University Agency of the Francophonie (AUF-Agence Francaise de la Francophonie).
Currently, HELP fellows attend the following universities and faculties: Quisqueya University, School of Infotronics of Haiti, University Notre-Dame of Haiti.
HELP fellows receive the following support: payment of university tuition and fees, loan of books needed for their courses, access to HELP’s computer lab equipped with internet, common housing, monthly academic allowance for food and transportation. Additionally, HELP offers English, IT, Citizenship and Leadership classes as well as academic counseling and internship guidance until students obtain their degree.
HELP’s goal is to provide students with a proper learning environment with the tools and training they need to succeed as agents of progress in their workplace, their community and in Haiti.
