KOREMists Making Waves

The KOREMists are making waves this summer!

HELP’s alumni contribution model received its first contributions in 2015.  Dubbed KOREM, which comes from a Creole phrase meaning, “support me and I’ll support you,” the program has grown in every way and this summer, the alumni contributors (KOREMists!) are using their commitment to rally more support for HELP and education in Haiti.

“I admire HELP’s policy of equal opportunity, helping those less fortunate who really want to make something of their lives. I am happy there is a system of sustainability in place, as it is a duty for all those who have had the fortune to be helped to give others the same opportunity. Investing in education is the way to make our country prosper in the future.” Nishina Previlon, education ‘20

To date, the alumni contribution model has raised over $160,000!! And to capitalize on this success, graduates are setting up matching campaigns to encourage older alumni, friends, and others in their networks, to match their contributions.

HELP’s alumni are our greatest endorsement and the greatest evidence of HELP’s success.  As KOREMists show their bosses and colleagues the power of a HELP scholarship, they are spreading the word about the best investment Haiti can make: one in young people and education.

“I really admire HELP’s outreach to the poorest of Haitians to give them the opportunity to build a better life for themselves and with KOREM, we can help the good work continue.” Jorgen Klishman Cesaire, agronomy ‘20

Keep an eye on your mailboxes later this summer to see how you can join HELP KOREMists as part of our Back to School campaign!
