Marc-Henry Saint Louis: A Sophomore Full of Promise

Even with a packed schedule, dense courses, and lots of homework Marc-Henry Saint Louis (industrial engineering '25) ended his freshman year with flying colors. He passed all his classes with averages in the 90s and made both the HELP honor roll and the dean’s list! He is now launching into his second year at HELP.

He writes of his freshman year, "At HELP I was really involved in my classes, participating each day and doing additional research.  The most interesting thing I learned was Microsoft Office in IT class.  This is knowledge that will be useful throughout my life and even right now, I am able to accomplish tasks quickly, where before they seemed impossible.  Through my leadership class, I worked on the literacy service project.  Four other students and I worked to improve the reading and writing skills of school children in 1st-4th grade.  I was a teacher, conducting the lessons. This experience helped me develop my sense of leadership and responsibility."

"This year, I’ve learned to better understand my strengths and weaknesses and to work on a team. The way I see and understand things is changing, and I have gained a new vision for myself!"

The youngest of four children, Marc-Henry served as student council president for two years in high school and set up a peer tutoring program to help those who were struggling. Always interested in math, physics, and chemistry, industrial engineering was a natural course of study for him. We are proud of the work Marc-Henry has already done in academia and the community. We’re excited to see what else is in store for Marc-Henry's time at HELP and beyond!
